Fresh Fruit

Big news this week, warranting its own post. This is a feature I call "Fresh Fruit," a big breaking news story in the social media world.

Google+ is now open to everyone. The new social network, previously available by invite only has opened its doors to all. Google is considering G+ to be in beta, constantly improving and adding new features...the most recent of which is their conference program, known as Hangout, going mobile for Android users.

Google+ is a huge and obvious competitor to Facebook, but there's still one thing missing: business. Google has discouraged the creation of G+ accounts for businesses, as they will be adding features for business after additional testing. In fact, a few weeks ago, Google had allowed businesses to apply for a limited number of business profiles that they will monitor and tweak for research purposes. When Google feels the product is ready, it will be available for all businesses. But for now, people like me wait eagerly for what is sure to be a groundbreaking new tool in the world of social media marketing and seo.

Fresh Blend

Welcome to the Buzz Blender! As this is the first post, I'd like to take the opportunity to explain how this blog works.
Every week, I'll be compiling a list of articles that I found interesting - mainly revolving around, but not limited to, the business side of social media. There will be plenty of laughs and trends thrown in with all that business fiber to make a healthy, delicious, and easily digestible brainfood smoothie.  I'm still playing around with other recipes for additional content, but I'm pretty sure I'll be featuring a weekly "Eye Candy" - some sort of really appealing graphic design.

Let's get to blending, shall we?
